"Poetry- Rhyme, Rhythm, and Alliteration"

Poetry is an excellent way to teach children. Poetry allows self-expression and creative exploration through words. It builds self esteem and teaches children about history, way of life and can even be incorporated in their studies. Children love the sounds of rhyming words and the rhythm that a poem can create. One poem in particular that I use to teach the younger children the alphabet is "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom", "A told B and B told C, "I'll meet you at the top of the coconut tree." The children join in and clap and repeat the alliteration. Poetry is definitely a fun and effective way to teach and learn.

I AM FASTER THAN YOU

  • I am faster than you.
  • I am fast like the wind.
  • I am faster than the rain.
  • I am fast like a cheetah
  • I am faster than a stray dog.
  • Do you think that you are fasten than me?
  • Run Girl, Run...Run Girl, Run! Fast!
